College Football Week 13 Results

A big Thanksgiving week, let’s see how it went. It’s long, so a jump for the dashboard viewers that don’t care.

#25 Texas @ Texas A&M (-8)
Pick: Texas
Result: 27-25 Texas, WIN

Pooooor Aggies. Letting Case McCoy lead a game winning drive after the Texas offense had been, well, less than great, was just another version of the A&Mplosion we’ve seen far too many times this year. So many, in fact, that Sherman just got fired. You can’t blow that many games late and not expect some consequences. The Horns get to retain bragging rights into perpetuity winning the last version of this rivalry. Granted, even losing it, they have a huge edge in the series, but still, taking the last one has to feel good. Damn shame to see this game go.

#3 Arkansas @ #1 LSU (-12)
Pick: Arkansas
Result: 41-17 LSU, LOSS

Soooooo, the 1st half started out like this game was gonna be awesome. But then LSU just went ham on them. Get it, pigs, ham, see what I did there? I’m sorry. Honey badger was pretty much a world destroyer in this one with a 92 yd punt return for a TD and 2 forced fumbles. The D was good, and the offense put up 494 yards on the Hogs. Not much you can say, LSU is just that damn good. If they do end up playing Bama again I think it’s a travesty.

#22 Notre Dame @ #6 Stanford (-7)
Pick: Notre Dame
Result: 28-14 Standford, LOSS

I hate this team. I’m sick of watching them lose, I’m sick of watching them not be able to get a damn snap off. The defense is pretty good, so there’s that. Good thing We don’t lose our whole secondary next year. Sick of this you guys

#2 Alabama (-21) @ #24 Auburn
Pick: Bama
Result: 42-14 Bama, WIN

Trent Richardson wants to show you what a real Heisman winning RB from Alabama looks like. Dude rattled off a career high 203 yards in a huge, rivalry game at the end of the year. Someone has been paying attention in his marketing classes.

#17 Clemson @ #12 South Carolina (-4.5)
Pick: Clemson
Result: 34-13 SCAR, LOSS

The Gamecock defense just completely shut Clemson down. The Tigers only got 150 yards of offense, which is a pretty good way to lose a football game. OBC is always more than happy to put a hurt on a team that will let him.

Ohio St. @ #15 Michigan (-7.5)
Pick: Michigan
Result: 40-34 Michigan, LOSS

This was, well, not what most people expected out of this game. B1G games are typically thought of as defensive slugfests that don’t see a ton of points. Not so much this week. Ohio State damn near pulled this game out, but Michigan finally got the monkey off their back beating their main rivals. Most Buckeye fans are probably ok since they just got Urban Meyer as their new head coach.

#13 Georgia (-6) @ #23 Georgia Tech
Pick: BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
Result: 31-17 Georgia, LOSS

Clearly I know nothing about how things go in the state of Georgia. The Dawgs came out and just put it on them. Aaron Murray threw for 4 TDs in leading his team to a win and onto the SECCG this weekend.

#19 Penn St @ #16 Wisconsin (-15)
Pick: PSU
Result: 45-7 Wisco, LOSS (?)

I want you guys to read what I wrote in picking this game:

This is a surprisingly huge game. The winner of this will head to the inaugural Big TenLevenWelve title game out of the, still miserably named Leaders conference. I don’t see Penn State winning this game. While I’ll give them credit for playing surprisingly great football in light of everything surrounding the program the last few weeks, I don’t think they have the talent to beat Wisco even if none of the kid rape had been going on. This should be a return to ALL RUSSELL WILSON EVERYTHING mode that we saw early on this year, sending the Badgers to Indy against Michigan State for a big time rematch.

Doesn’t that read an awful lot like someone that picked Wisco? I thought I had picked Wisco, and then in writing this up, found that next to the word pick, I had PSU. I’m so confused. Oh well, this game got rap..maybe I shouldn’t finish that word. Too soon. I’ll take the loss, but I’m convinced this was somehow me getting HAXXORED.
