Well, well, well we survived week 1, so long as you aren’t a Pittsburgh fan (TKO via Penguin bites). If you want to know how you fared last week just click on the blue letters and be teleported to the past. Heavy. Continue on to make picks this week. Season Record: 2-3 (40%)
Purdue @ #22 Notre Dame (-14)
Purdue has some solid talent on the DLine and at WR. Howevah, their QB options are Robert Marve, who somehow still has eligibility, and a dude named TerBush coming off a suspension. These two share a few things in common, including both being on Purdue and both being not that good at football. I think ND will stay fairly conservative again, relying on the ground game and passes to the TEs, saving the real sexy for the ugliness coming in the schedule real soon. This should be a 3 score game or so.
Washington @ #3 LSU (-24)
I wanted to take the points here, I really did. An SEC team with a four score (yes I know it could be 3 smartasses) spread? This seems ill-advised. But UW only beat SDSU 21-12 last week. I don’t care if they brought a live tiger to practice to try to get ready for Baton Rouge, thought that was awesome. LSU will do what they do best to the Huskies, deep fry them. This already strikes me as the game I’ll be kicking myself for on Sunday due to the points, but I just can’t take the Huskies.
#7 Georgia (-2) @ Missouri
Yep, we’re going with a top 10 upset here. This line makes no sense, which means Vegas knows something with their alien technology, which means I’m jumping on board. Georgia let Buffalo hang around for quite awhile last weekend, and even let the mediocre at best Buffs put up 21. Mizzou played nobody, so we don’t know much, but I like the young DGB and the Tigers opening up their SEC careers at home with a shenanigan filled upset. When Mark Richt loses control of point spreads, one must ride the wave.
#16 Nebraska (-5) @ UCLA
Vegas is trying me here, another batshit crazy line. I won’t be going with this one though. UCLA is that bad.
#24 Florida @ Texas A&M (-1)
Yup, we’re gonna go with both SEC newbies winning their debuts. Several things here, Florida being ranked is crazy talk. Florida’s offense is just a painful tire fire as the Solid Verbal gents would say. Yes the Gators are used to loud/hostile environments, but are they ready for fake armies, what’s pretty much a cult, and a stadium that fucking sways? That’s a bizarre environment. The Aggies will be up like no other game and will confound Florida with Sumlin’s air-raid. Sure the Ags are having their first game of the year, but Florida barely got by Bowling Green. Omar Jacobs aint there anymore, that’s just ugly.
Go to it my friends, you know what to do.
