Hope you kids enjoyed the week off of picking. Lord knows I needed it, even though I finally had a plus week for once in week 4. See how you did here, then hit the jump and let’s play the game we all came to play.
Miami “@” #9 Notre Dame (-14) [at Soldier Field in Chicago]
Ugh, this line is so large. My first thought was how the hell is ND gonna score the points to cover this. But Miami gave up 32 to Boston College and 37 to NCSt…we aren’t dealing w/ Bama here. ND while not at home, is at home, and it’s supposed to be freezing this weekend, not good for the 7th Floor Crew. I expect the D to continue owning and the ND offense to finally get their tires under them with Gumshoe and put some points on the board.
#4 LSU (-3) @ #10 Florida
I feel not great about this pick at all, which is why I’m going with it. Road favorite, at the Swamp, with two consecutive brutal games by LSU. My gut is that this means weird Les Miles shit is about to happen and Brad Wing will somehow end up with 2 TDs. But I’m not banking on it this time. I’ve now changed this pick 4 times. I’m sticking with the Gators.
#5 Georgia @ #6 South Carolina (-1)
I could see either team taking this one, but I’ve still got a bad taste in my mouth after that SCAR Vandy game to start the year. I’ll go with the Dawgs because MARK RICHT HAS LOST CONTROL OF MY PICKS.
#8 West Virginia @ #11 Texas (-7)
Pick: West Virginia
I’m going against my betting system with this one. Currently 3/4 of the money is on WFVU meaning I should bet Texas. Sure most people know WVU put up 70 last week, but they also gave up 63. Everything is pointing to Texas for me to pick. But I watched the entire UT-Okie State game last week and two things stuck out at me. 1st, David Ash is a hell of a lot better this year. 2nd, and more important here, Texas can’t tackle for shit. 3 of OSU’s TD’s came because of at least 2 missed tackles on one guy. You can’t do that with guys like Tavon Austin. If you give Dana and Geno points, I’m on board. I’m just worried that everyone else is except for Vegas.
#21 Nebraska @ #12 Ohio State (-3.5)
My real prediction: this game will be absolutely terrible. I don’t like either of these teams this year, so I’m gonna go with the team that has the best player on the field. There’s only one important thing surrounding this game and that’s the Eat Too, Brutus tailgate by the guys over at Eleven Warriors. Good folks getting drunk for a great cause, if you are in Columbus, go be awesome there.
There it is you heathens, go get em.
