Chuck is having it’s series finale tonight. It’s always been a very goofy, nerdy show, but I love it. It’s funny, has some good plot twists, some attractive women, really everything in my wheelhouse. One of the best parts of the show has always been the music. If it wasn’t for the show, I probably would’ve never discovered Frightened Rabbit, which is now one of my favorite bands. The music of the show has long been one of it’s best parts. This site has a break down of all the songs that have played during the show. If you like the show, it’s some good stuff. Reliving College

So I’m up in Dallas for the weekend to move out my furniture. Went out to the bars with some buddies. We went to our classic karaoke bar and all was going great. Then, inexplicably, someone karaokes the Lee Greenwood classic of God Bless the USA. As background, the greatest bar in the history of the NBA, the Backer in South Bend, will always close the night with that, then the fight song, the Happy Trails to kick us all out. Hearing it at about 1 in Dallas was strange. Luckily I had 2 law school friends with me that also went to ND that were with me on the greatness of what happened. We swayed, we sang, we yelled. When that song was over the 3 of us started clapping and shouting the ND fight song, and you know what? It was a beautiful thing. The only thing that beats it? A week from now I’ll be doin it with my college crew for real. Missed u college.

So, I think every Tumblr page has already reblogged this video today(yesterday really) but I finally got around to hearing it and wow…everyone was right. This is just a freaking jam. Well played Cee-Lo. Side note, I hate a whole bunch of jokes written at first based on the song “I Wish…” but then I remembered that was Skee-Lo, not Cee-Lo. h8 u blown joke opps.

Either way, enjoy the greatness.

I just got an email from the Granada theater reminding me that I have a ticket to see The Whigs and The Hold Steady on Saturday!! It had pretty much completely slipped my mind. Great study break or greatest study break?

I had heard bits and pieces of these guys but never really got into them. Then somebody I follow had this song up, and it’s a jam. OMNI is pretty fantastic and I also went back and got 2 of their old albums which were both very good as well. As always, I’m late to the party, but Minus the Bear are awesome.
